What is Integration?

Imagine your inner world as the inside of a bus going down the highway of life.

On that bus, there is clearly a driver, but also passengers. These are the different voices, the varying emotions, and parts you’ve sensed inside your head.

And perhaps when you feel adrift in life, like you're spinning your wheels or going in circles, you've asked yourself, ‘Who’s driving my bus?  Why does it feel like I’m constantly in conflict with myself when I try to achieve my goals and get to my destination?’ Or, more simply, ‘Why is it so difficult to make lasting change and achieve meaningful growth?’
 
The answer is integration.

Integration is about getting your whole self aligned and onboard with your goals.

Think of your 'inner bus' again. Those passengers represent your emotions, past experiences, beliefs, and even the different roles you play in life. Sometimes, these parts might argue, unexpectedly take the wheel, or even try to lead you down the wrong path.

 

Integration is the process of learning how to access your center of calm, compassion and curiosity when you communicate with those parts instead of treating them like a naughty child or the enemy. It's about giving them space to be heard and understood instead of being ignored or berated.

It is learning that every part of you is valuable and worthy, and welcoming them along for the ride!
